Dancers in color at the beach

Q&A

Where is Coastal Ballet located?

We are located in the heart of Encinitas, at 339 N. El Camino Real, Suite C, in the Michaels shopping center. We serve Encinitas, Carlsbad, San Marcos, Del Mar and all of North County San Diego.

When will you be open?

We are open! Please check out our weekly schedule to see when you want to dance.

How can I enroll?

Please visit our website at www.coastalballetsd.com and click “enroll now”, or find the button below.

Are you on social media?

Yes! You can follow us on Instagram @CoastalBallet, TikTok  @Coastal.Ballet, and Facebook @Coastal Ballet Center for the Arts.

Will you have a Nutcracker?

Yes! It will be held Dec. 21-22 at Torrey Pines High School Performing Arts Center. We’ll have two shows: 5pm Saturday and 2pm Sunday.

Do you have other types of dance?

We do! Right now we offer lyrical, and jazz and musical theater for our youth students. We also offer Dance for Athletes, a conditioning and cross training class using foundational ballet movements, and a daytime ballet-based fitness class (not your typical barre class!). We'll offer more and different types of class as we grow.

I’m already signed up for ISPE with another studio. Is it easy to switch?

Yes! Each district has its own requirements so please check with yours. For example, in SDUHSD schools, you will need to resubmit proof of insurance, CPR/First Aid certificate, coaching course certificate, and the coaching application, which the studio has on file.

Will you have adult ballet classes?

Yes! Our intermediate adult classes are every morning from 9:30 to 11am, and beginning adult ballet is Tuesday and Thursday 11:15-12:45.

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes! We offer both private dance and Gyrotonics lessons, and offer package pricing for both. Please contact the studio at info@coastalballetsd.com for more information.

What is Gyrontonics?

The Gyrotonic Method is an original and unique movement method that addresses the entire person by opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and improving strength and movement efficiency. With Gyrotonic exercises, each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility. Our owner, Catharine, is a certified trainer in Gyrotonics and Gyrokinesis Methods.

I am a dance teacher and am interested in your studio. Do you still need help?

We are always looking for great teachers, especially as we grow and add other styles of dance. Please contact Catharine at info@coastalballetsd.com.
